When it comes to Christmas gifts, everyone has strong opinions. But apparently nothing divides the room faster than one simple question: “Do you ever get your kids books for Christmas?”
The immediate response from the studio: A chorus of No. Not just “no,” but a definitive, passionate absolutely not. Lunchbox even called it “a waste of money.” Why? Because according to him, no kid has ever ripped open wrapping paper, seen a book, and yelled, “WHOAAA!” Instead, he imagines his kids opening a book and responding with the same enthusiasm as someone starting homework.
Eddie admitted part of the reading resistance at his house might be cultural, no one really sits around reading, so his boys don’t naturally gravitate toward books either. Still, he has seen one of them get into a book now and then, so maybe there’s hope. Lunchbox doubled down though. He wants excitement on Christmas morning, not confusion. They do eventually read them later, just not with wrapping-paper-level hype.
There are three books that are most commonly gifted for Christmas and they're as follows:
#1: Harry Potter
#2: The Bible
#3: Unexpected, random, but a massive bestseller: Atomic Habits
Bobby mentioned he read Atomic Habits, though to be fair, the memory is fuzzy. It was so long ago he can’t fully remember what it was about. Which led to the final, chaotic confession: Eddie sometimes tells people he’s read books he definitely hasn’t.
