The first trailer for “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” teases a grief-soaked reimagining of the classic horror tale, with Cronin, best known for “Evil Dead Rise,” promising something deeply unsettling. The film centers on a journalist’s daughter who vanishes into the desert, only to return eight years later, transforming what should be relief into dread as a broken family realizes a new nightmare is in their home. Starring Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace and Verónica Falcón, the film is produced by horror legends James Wan and Jason Blum. “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” opens in theaters and IMAX in North America on April 17.
