In case you missed it...

Raul Malo's battle against cancer is over; The Mavericks' singer passed away last week after a brief hospitalization. Just days after two tribute concerts were held at the Ryman Auditorium, it was announced that Malo had died after a lengthy battle with colon cancer. In a statement, the band said, "It’s with the deepest grief we share the passing of our friend, bandmate and brother Raul Malo. Anyone with the pleasure of being in Raul’s orbit knew that he was a force of human nature, with an infectious energy. Over a career of more than three decades entertaining millions around the globe, his towering creative contributions and unrivaled, generational talent created the kind of multicultural American music reaching far beyond America itself." The Mavericks, led by Malo's distinctive opera-like voice, burst on to the country music scene in the early 90s, scoring both CMA and ACM awards for Vocal Group of the Year. While their radio presence was minimal (with only two Top 20 country singles over their career), their fusion of Latin, pop and country influences made them unique and led to them being a successful touring band since their start in 1990. When Malo's cancer battle grew more intense, his band, along with many Nashville friends and peers, put together a two night tribute event at the Ryman, which Malo was scheduled to attend (though he wouldn't be able to perform). Unfortunately, just a day before the first concert, the singer was rushed to the hospital as his condition worsened; he passed away four days later. Raul Malo was 60.

It's been a minute since Brad Paisley had a hit with one of his signature humorous songs (think "Celebrity" and "Ticks"), but that doesn't mean the singer has lost his sense of humor. Playing the Wynn in Las Vegas as part of his "One Man Six Strings" residency, Brad opened up the show to fan requests...only to get hit with a call for a pop-rap hit from 1992. In a video posted to his TikTok, Brad is proven to be up to the task. "This is getting out of hand," he jokes. He immediately called to a team member backstage to pull up the lyrics for him. "How would Johnny Cash do 'Baby Got Back'?" he asked, and then gamely attacked the Sir Mix-A-Lot smashSee Brad do his twist on "Baby Got Back (CAREFUL !NSFW LANGUAGE!) below...
