A pumpkin has mysteriously appeared on top of the University of Montana's Main Hall for the 30th year in a row, and a climber has offered some clues about how it gets there. The pumpkin has shown up every year since 1995 under the cover of night during homecoming celebrations, but the identities of the people who put it there remain a mystery, but members of the rock climbing community are suspected to be behind it. An anonymous climber told NBC Montana that the climb starts with the rear fire escape, then uses parts of the clock to reach the top. The green roof tiles get slippery when there's condensation, which usually happens on fall nights. The climber also said the university has hired people to put it up safely so students don't get hurt, but climbers still try to race them to do it first. One climber was arrested in the past for making the climb, but he still managed to spike the pumpkin on the spire.
