Sunday was a big day for three big presences in country. The Country Music Hall Of Fame officially welcomed the Class of 2024: Toby Keith, John Anderson and guitarist James Burton. Keith entered in the Modern Era category, Anderson was the Veteran Era inductee, and Burton was in the Recording/Touring Musician category. Anderson had a huge run of hits in the 80s and 90s, including "Swingin'," "Straight Tequila Night" and "Seminole Wind," among many others. Burton was a studio and touring legend, playing on albums by Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and Emmylou Harris, among countless others. He was also a member of Elvis Presley's touring band for almost a decade. And of course, there was Toby Keith, the larger than life presence that supplied much of the country soundtrack from the 90s to the 2010s. We told you on Monday that Morgan Wallen was putting together a new music festival, called "Sand In My Boots." Now we know who's going to play the festival, and as Morgan promised, it's an eclectic lineup, covering multiple genres. From the country side of things, Wallen, Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn and Hardy are headlining. Country will further be represented by Chase Rice, Paul Cauthen, Riley Green, Bailey Zimmerman, Ernest, Ian Munsick, Nate Smith, Treaty Oak Revival, Ella Langley, Kameron Marlowe, 49 Winchester, Hailey Whitters, and more. From outside the genre, rock and hip hop acts like The War On Drugs, Wiz Khalifa, T-Pain, Diplo, Three 6 Mafia, 2 Chainz, 3 Doors Down, Moneybagg Yo and more. The festival is scheduled for May 16th-18th, 2025 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
