In case you missed it...
New music from George Jones, who passed away over eleven years ago, wasn't on our 2024 bingo card, but here we are. "The Lost Nashville Sessions," which comes out next month, is comprised of 16 songs recorded in one or two takes specifically for radio in the 1970s. While the songs may be familiar to Possum fans, these particular versions have never been released. Record label folks found the boxed master tapes and gave them to producer Paul Martin, who removed the announcements, bumped up the audio quality, and added some instrumentation. The first single from the collection is now out. "The Honky Tonk Downstairs" appeared in its original form on George's 1968 album, "George Jones Sings The Songs Of Dallas Frazier." "The Lost Nashville Sessions" comes out November 15th. Check out "The Honky Tonk Downstairs" below...
Ringo Starr is working on a country album. The 84-year-old rock icon and former member of the Beatles is teaming up with producer T Bone Burnett to release the eleven-track project. It's called 'Look Up,' and it drops January 10th. Alison Krauss, Billy Strings, Lucious Boyd, and Molly Tuttle appear on the album. The first song, "Time on My Hands," is out now.
