Director Kevin Williamson and star Neve Campbell revealed on Instagram that “Scream 7” will hit theaters on February 27th, 2026. "It's going to be a killer 2026. #Scream7," Campbell wrote. The new film follows “Scream VI” from 2023, which starred Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, and Courteney Cox. Barrera was fired from the franchise in November, and Ortega dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott in the first five films, confirmed her return for “Scream 7” and Cox is also expected to reprise her role as Gale Weathers.
