In case you missed it...
Fans are gonna fan, and they all have their favorites - but who do country stars think is going to be the next new artist to blow up? And if more than one country star is in agreement, can we bet on it? Both Carly Pearce and Megan Moroney were asked recently who they thought would follow in their footsteps and burst onto the scene, as they did - and they both had the same answer. First, Megan: "I really like Ella Langley, I think she has a great voice, I think she just released that song with Riley Green, that everyone loves. Just happy for her, I've seen her all over TikTok." Carly answered the same question a few days later: "I think Ella Langley is next. Any time I open up my TikTok, it's [singing] 'Excuse me, you look like you love me,' and I'm also gonna call it that that's gonna be a big song for her." Are they right? Check out Ella Langley's duet with Riley Green, "You Look Like You Love Me," below...AND see her with Dierks Bentley at Vibrant Arena at the Mark in Moline on September 20th.
Any fan of the "Deadpool" movies knows that the franchise uses some...unique musical choices for their soundtracks. The latest movie, "Deadpool And Wolverine," apparently follows the same pattern. Why go with some anthemic pop or rock song when you can have Aretha Franklin backed by an orchestra, or The Platters, or John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John? The soundtrack is available now and includes a varied lineup of artists: Waylon Jennings and Patsy Cline representing country, The Platters, Aretha and Merrilee Rush are here for fans of the oldies, Chris de Burgh, Eric Carmen and Huey Lewis & The News for old school pop; N'Sync, the Goo Goo Dolls, Avril Lavigne and Fergie for you 90s-2000s kids, with additional appearances by the Stray Kids, Green Day, Jimmy Durante and more.
