In case you missed it...
Two legends performing a song by two legends. That's what fans got to see when they attended the George Strait concert at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey over the weekend. Chris Stapleton has been opening the shows on King George's current tour, occasionally joining Strait on stage. Over the weekend, fans were treated to the two performing the 1983 Willie Nelson/Merle Haggard classic "Pancho & Lefty." As an encore that same evening, Strait brought out Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell to join him on a cover of Petty's "You Wreck Me." Check out both performances below...
There's no denying Parker McCollum is a Texas boy through and through; he apparently has the Texas high school football classic "Friday Night Lights" memorized. Posting a recap video of the weekend's shows in Myrtle Beach, Nashville and Detroit on Instagram, Parker opened the clip with a dead-on impression of Lucas Black as quarterback Mike Winchell calling the final play in the 2004 film. "I Right Wiggle, 34 Switchblade, for the state championship, I love all y'all, baby, I love all y'all." See Parker nail QB1 Mike Winchell's final play-call from "Friday Night Lights" to the right - and see the original scene (NSFW language!) starting at 3:21 of the clip of "Friday Night Lights" here.
