In case you missed it...
Lonestar's new cover version of Eurythmics' "Here Comes The Rain Again" caught the attention of Eurythmics' member Dave Stewart, who had nothing but praise for the country band's version. "Over time, music has proven its ability to transcend genre boundaries, and it’s always gratifying to learn that the music Annie (Lennox) and I crafted together continues to inspire other artists. The song was released as a single 40 years ago, and seeing a band like Lonestar put their touch on it in 2024, it’s amazing to see it still having an impact.” The song is part of Lonestar's upcoming EP "Iconic, Vo. 1," which comes out this summer. Let the arguments begin! "Rolling Stone" has put out a list of their "Top 200 Country Songs of All Time" and it's certainly a conversation-starter. Some of the notable (and perhaps controversial) songs: Taylor Swift's "Mean" coming in at #20, Tracy Chapman's original 1988 "Fast Car" making the list at #113, and Beyoncé’s "Texas Hold 'Em" sneaking in at #192. Kind of hard to argue the Top 5, though: George Jones "He Stopped Loving Her Today," Hank Williams "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," Patsy Cline's "Crazy," Johnny Cash's "I Walk The Line" and Dolly Parton topping the list with her classic "Jolene."
