In case you missed it...
Tuesday night was a big night for Lainey Wilson. The singer appeared on "The Voice" to perform her latest single "Hang Tight Honey," but the evening turned into one she'll remember for a lifetime for what happened directly after. Coach Reba McEntire took the mic and addressed Wilson, saying "Lainey, I am so proud of you. I am thrilled to death if I had anything to do with your career, 'cause you are blowing it up. I was so proud of you at the ACMs the other night, and I couldn't be more proud to be the one that helps you to bridge the gap between our generations. I'd like to be the person who invites you to be an official member of the Grand Ole Opry." Lainey, of course, was blown away, yelling "Holy Moly!" and giving Reba a tearful hug. See the big moment below...
She's gone bluegrass, she's gone rock. What's left? Well, assuming polka is out of the question, Dolly Parton's next musical venture is taking her into the world of classical music. "Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony" was recently announced by Dolly and her co-producers on the project, Schirmer Theatrical and Sony Music Publishing. The tour’s first date will take place with the Nashville Symphony on March 20th, 2025, with more dates and cities to be announced. The show will feature orchestral renditions of Dolly Parton classics with Dolly participating via appearances on a big screen, as part of a "multimedia symphonic storytelling experience." According to the announcement, the event will feature "Dolly’s songs and the stories behind them in an innovative multimedia symphonic experience featuring Dolly on screen, leading audiences in a visual-musical journey of her songs, her life and her stories." The program will have the orchestras "accompanied by guest vocalists and musicians" and feature "new and innovative orchestrations" of her signature songs.
