The Rolling Stones announced the lucky performers tapped to open for the legendary band on their 2024 "Hackney Diamonds" tour, and interestingly, alongside names that seemed at home opening for one of the world's biggest rock bands (Joe Bonamassa, Widespread Panic, The Pretty Reckless) were some highly-regarded country artists as well. Lainey Wilson, The Red Clay Strays, The War & Treaty and Tyler Childers were each tapped to open one show on the upcoming tour. The Strays open up the May 30th date in Foxboro, Massachusetts; Tyler Childers joins the Stones June 3rd in Orlando, Florida; Lainey Wilson takes the stage June 30th in Chicago and The War & Treaty open the show July 10th in Los Angeles. See the complete list of openers and show dates/venues below.
It's almost not news any more, as many times as she's done it, but the ACMs recently announced that Reba McEntire would be coming back to host the upcoming ACM Awards. This will be the 17th time hosting for the legend, which is a record. Once the announcement was made, Reba said, "I am tickled to pieces to get to host the ACM Awards for the 17th time! What an honor to have been part of the past, present and now the future of the Academy of Country Music with Amazon Prime Video. I can’t wait to get to Texas and see everybody May 16th!" As Reba said, the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards happens Thursday, May 16 at 8 pm EDT/5 pm PDT, streaming live on Prime Video from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
