In case you missed it...
Sara Evans has started up a new podcast. "Diving In Deep With Sara Evans" Episode 1 was posted last week, and it centered around one thing: her marriage to Jay Barker. The apparent end of their relationship made headlines, with Barker getting arrested for trying to ram a car Sara was in with his own vehicle - and after that, the country singer filed for divorce. But Sara's here to tell fans that wasn't the end, but the beginning. Of her podcast, Sara started the episode by saying of listeners, "If they had the opportunity to ask me one question, they would wanna know about me and Jay." And for the better part of an hour, Sara dug in deep - on how they got to the breaking point, and what came after. She described the night that Jay was arrested, the many therapy sessions that followed, and the tentative road they both walked towards reconciliation. Sara is quite clear that piecing together a broken relationship isn't for everyone, and that's not what she's advocating. "I don’t want anyone to think that I'm advocating staying in a relationship where you are ever, in your gut, you know that you need to exit the situation. Every woman needs to follow her gut on that and do what is best for her. I believe and I hope that I’ve done that." She says that "That doesn't mean that we're all better, everything is just perfect...but we're together, and I can honestly tell you that people can change." Priscilla Block is something of an outlier in Nashville - in all of music, really. She's noticeably not a tiny woman. She's got curves, and she seems OK with them - wearing cut-off shorts and outfits that are decidedly not baggy. But to get to that point, to being able to accept her body as it is rather than hide it and be at war with it, was a lifetime battle that she revealed to fans and followers on her social media platforms last week. Alongside some pics of her in a bikini while visiting New Zealand, Block described the path that made it possible to even post pics like these - photos she would have never allowed be taken not that long ago. "You know what’s crazy… the amount of YEARS I’ve wasted in my life, legit hating my body. Honestly, it started before I can even remember. I said no to so many things if it meant me having to wear a bathing suit. Spring breaks, pool parties, boat days… most of summer, which is my favorite time of year. It’s still something that I struggle with. Idk if I’ve had like a spiritual awakening while I’ve been in New Zealand, but from today forward- I am saying no to things that hurt my heart. Whether it’s the voice in my head saying I’m not good enough, pretty enough, skinny enough. Whether it’s being around someone who’s constantly negative. Whether it’s mindlessly scrolling the internet- comparing my life to anyone else’s. Whether it’s eating food that makes me feel like garbage. Whether it’s having to filtering myself to make other people around feel more comfortable. The list goes on and the answer is no. No, we are not doing that today and more so- we are not wasting any more time on this earth feeding into those things. One thing I know is there is so much in life that we can’t control, but what we can control is what we allow into our mind, body and soul." Fans in the comments had the young singer's back. "Girl….. you do not understand how much you put positivity for the younger generation and for people to love there body! Beautiful" and "GIRL, YES! And please don't ever again scroll comparing yourself to others because you are such an inspiring person for so many! Especially to those of us with THICK THIGHS!" It's true - there are enough people willing to put you down; don't join them.
