A Japanese startup is changing the game by bringing Japan's famously expensive fruits directly to American doorsteps to taste a bite of those $90 strawberries. With a selection including berries, melons, and satsuma oranges, the $780 three-tiered variety pack through Ikigai Fruits is available for special occasions. These price tags have the goods to back’em up. For instance, the crown jewel Shizuke prefecture Fuji Muskmelon has been awarded a prize given to only one out of 1-thousand other melons and goes for $128 a pop. And with the meticulous growing, packing, and shipping of these fine fruits, it takes two weeks for the produce to go from their original farm to a US table.
