It's a big moment where a country legend in the making brings a bona fide country legend out on stage to join them. Fans at the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma on Friday got to witness such a moment as Lainey Wilson introduced country icon Randy Travis to the crowd. "I want to introduce to the stage, one of my heroes, one of the reasons I fell in love with country music, a dear friend of mine now…y’all give it up for the one, the only, the country music legend Randy Travis," Wilson exclaimed as she made her way across the stage to greet the country star and his wife, Mary. She wheeled Travis from the wings to "front and center, right where he belongs," adding, "My mama and daddy ain’t gonna believe this!" Wilson went on to explain that she and Travis are friends now, and that Randy shows up at her shows quite often, though she admitted, "...when you have Randy Travis side stage? First of all, that's a little nerve-wracking, I ain't gonna lie to you." See Lainey bring Randy Travis out to meet the crowd below...
Are NKOTB - New Kids On The Block - doing what Beyonce, Lana Del Rey and other pop stars have done and ventured into the country genre? The band visited "The Kelly Clarkson Show" Friday when Kelly asked them if they have ever considered branching out into other genres of music. Jordan Knight raised his hand and announced, "Country!" The audience loved the idea. Was he serious? He went on to explain that there was one country song on the upcoming album of new material, a song written by band member Joey McIntyre. McIntyre, however, laughingly disagreed, saying the only reason Knight thinks it's country is because it has the word "barn" in the title. Clarkson asked the obvious followup - what's the name of the song? "Having A Party In The Barn." He then admitted that the song "does have some 'twang' to it," before Knight reiterated, "I think we should do a country album." McIntyre backed him up, saying "Done!" Their new album, probably not that country, is called "Still Kids" and comes out May 17th. See NKOTB on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" below...
