In case you missed it...

With the help of HGTV, Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay is gifting his sister a newly-renovated home. Gabby Mooney Stone suffered a near-death experience last year that led to emergency brain surgery. That's why Shay reached out to his friends, Dave and Jenny Marrs from Fixer to Fabulous, to help transform their grandmother's Arkansas farmhouse. The heartfelt gift to Gabby and her husband, Graylan, not only helped with her recovery, it doubled as the perfect wedding venue.

Jelly Roll is always the center of attention at any awards show he attends - or ends up giving an acceptance speech at. So why, when he was nominated for two People's Choice Awards (for New Artist and Male Country Artist, the second of which he won) was he not at the awards show Sunday night? Jelly jumped on social media to explain his absence: he was visiting kids in a juvenile detention center; it had been scheduled for a long time, and Jelly refused to miss it, saying in a video on his socials, "What's up, y'all! Listen man...holy s**t! We won a People's Choice Award for the Male Country Artist of the year, voted on by the fans, baby! I've always said I don't have the biggest fan base but I have the mightiest fan base, baby, the tiniest and the mightiest, y'all have never let me down - thank you!" He then went on to explain why he wasn't there in person to accept the award. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there. Here’s the truth: I’m actually standing in the juvenile courthouse right now, I just walked out of the juvenile facility. We partnered with the 'Beat of Life' to bring a music program to the kids. This has been on my calendar for a long time. I promised these kids I was coming. I know whenever I was a kid in here I got let down a lot. I didn’t want to be one of the people letting these kids down. I had to honor my word." He went on to say, "I hate I wasn’t there, but don’t take me not being there as a sign of anything other than love and respect and me trying to do better for my community, baby." Jelly Roll - good guy. Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina have been friends since middle school; they're careers have more or less run parallel to each other, and they've even duetted together on the #1 hit "What Ifs." So why would Kane skip out on Lauren's wedding? Kane explained on "The Big D & Bubba Show" that he had a perfectly good reason. "I did not [make it], and I feel like a crappy friend," Brown says. The reason: he was getting a vasectomy. And it wasn't a lot of fun for the singer. "I was laying on my back, high as a kite, the nurse and the doctor just standing over me," Brown recalls. "I'm spread eagle, and they're just talking about their day." Seemingly this means that with two daughters and a son on the way, three kids is enough for Kane and his wife Katelyn.
