You’ll spot a familiar last name if you check out "American Idol" this weekend. On the teaser, one contestant tells the judges that her grandma's a country singer. Turns out her grandmother is none other than Loretta Lynn. While there hasn't been confirmation, it appears the contestant is Emmy Russell, daughter of Patsy Lynn Russell. Emmy made her Grand Ole Opry debut in April of last year when she performed a tribute to her grandma.
Beyoncé has made her debut on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, with “Texas Hold ‘Em” in the number one spot! Her other new single, “16 Carriages” also landed in the top ten, taking the number nine spot. The new songs from Queen Bey came out as a surprise drop after the Super Bowl this month, and have taken her fans by storm…grabbing millions of plays and streams since. With her latest win on the Hot Country Songs Chart, the artist has now gotten gotten the number one spot on seven charts during her career…the Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Hot Gospel Songs, Hot Latin Songs, Hot R&B Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Beyonce is the only act to have grabbed a number one song across those seven charts. She’s also the first woman in history to take the top spot on both Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs since October 1958. Morgan Wallen, Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Ray Charles are the only other acts to have led both charts.
