Congratulations to Jon Pardi and wife Summer - who announced on their socials yesterday that their family is about to expand by one! "Good thing we have that extra guest room," Summer wrote in the caption of her post. "We can't wait to fill this home with all the love from our little family of four." The couple's pregnancy announcement featured their daughter Presley, as well as the building site of their new house. In the video post, the family walks through the construction site, with baby Presley holding (and nibbling on) a sonogram. You can see it below...
On February 4th, the GRAMMY Awards will broadcast the music industry’s highest honors out across the globe. But the night before, the Special Merit Awards will feature this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winners. And over the weekend, The Recording Academy released their list of musicians, artists and acts that would be named for the high honor. R&B, gospel and pop singer Gladys Knight, rap pioneers N.W.A., disco queen Donna Summer, country star Tammy Wynette, gospel group The Clark Sisters, and writer/musician Laurie Anderson have been tabbed to take home the career prizes. “The Academy is honored to pay tribute to this year’s Special Merit Award recipients,” said Harvey Mason, Jr. “A remarkable group of creators and industry professionals whose impact resonates with generations worldwide.” The ceremony will take place at the Wilshire Bell Theatre in Los Angeles and kick off “Music’s Biggest Week.”
Who knew that when you win an ACM Award, it actually shows up at your front door like something from Amazon? The 2023 ACM Awards were held back in May, but apparently they don't give you your actual award, they ship it to you - several months later. Hailey Whitters won the 2023 ACM Award for Best new Female Artist, and she posted a clip on Instagram of when she received the award. "let's see what we got here," she mused as she opened a big box from "Society Awards." "Oh my gosh! Is this...the ACM???" It was, accompanied by a certificate congratulating her.
