In case you missed it...
Reba McEntire has a favorite saying and if you watch “The Voice,” you’ve heard it. So when asked where she picked up the phrase “oh my God, Becky!,” during the finale, the other judges were shocked to find out it’s a line from Sir Mix-a-lot’s “Baby Got Back.” John Legend was stunned and said “She’s quoting Sir Mix-a-Lot? Does she know?” while Niall Horan added “Who knew Reba McEntire was listening to Sir Mix-a-Lot?” And, yes, Reba knows the song. She piped in “‘Oh my God Becky’ came from ‘Oh my god, Becky, look at that butt. So I want to give a shout-out to Sir Mix-a-Lot. I just love that saying, ‘Oh my god Becky, look at that butt.’” Fans adore the country icon for this and she’s even made new fans, with one commenting online “Honestly, I knew nothing about Reba until this. Now I am in LOVE with this humble, sweet, caring, TALENTED, loving human being superstar! My goodness! They say you get what you give, and my gosh, she gives so much love to so many! She is deserving of all the love and success along with happiness in her life! Come back next year, Reba, please!!!!!”
Gabby Barrett is on the way up. She's had a few hits, and her star is on the rise. In the new episode of the podcast "Unexpected With Hannah Love," she explains that some friends, fans and industry insiders have advised her that her marriage and her faith may be slowing her ascent. Gabby explains: "There have been large song opportunities that have come in for me to duet on and be a part of, and [that's something] between myself and my husband," she explains. "I respect him a ton, and I listen to what he has to say, and I think he deserves that. The Bible talks about us doing that for our husbands." "There have been songs that have been not appropriate to sing wording-wise, like, these love songs that are really intimate wording-wise," she continues, pointing out that a high profile country duet will typically include more obligations than just the recording: Music videos, awards show performances, televised duets and joint interviews are all typical components of song promo. "What does that look like on the stage?" Barrett relates. "If I'm singing with another man, is that gonna make my husband uncomfortable? Probably. And I respect and love him so much that I am not gonna jeopardize my marriage to do a duet with somebody."
