In case you missed it...
After what many might consider a "levelling up" for Ashley McBryde at last Sunday's CMT Music Awards (including a spotlight performance with Wynonna on Foreigner's "I Want To Know What Love Is"), the singer/songwriter isn't going to let the moment go to waste; she's announced a new track, "The Devil You Know" is dropping tomorrow. The song is the second new tune the country star has released recently; the first, "Light On In The Kitchen," came out last month. Now with a second new song, hopes are high that Ashley is ready to drop a new album some time soon. Her last album was 2020's "Never Will," so it's been a minute. While there's been no word on if/when that next album is coming out, we do get the new track tomorrow - and an acoustic tease of that track today. Ashley sat down with her guitar to play a little of what we can expect to be a fleshed-out version of the track which you can check out here.
Morgan Evans is in an enviable position as a country music songwriter, if not so much on a personal level. His very public split from wife Kelsea Ballerini has led to a wealth of material for both artists - Kelsea's take we've heard already on her EP "Rolling Up The Welcome Mat" which came out in February. Now we get to hear Morgan's side of things, the equally relationship-based EP "Life Upside Down" Morgan announced yesterday that the EP would drop April 21; while we've already heard some tracks from it, others we'll hear in two weeks - though with the announcement, Morgan dropped the track "On My Own Again" as an additional peek into what we'll hear - and what he's been going through. "I called the EP "Life Upside Down" because this collection of music could only have come from this time, when my life felt exactly that," Evans explains via press release. "To me, these five tracks journey through unexpected heartbreak, self-rediscovery, new beginnings and a new found gratitude for the present moment." Check out the tracklist:
