In case you missed it...

Can’t get enough of all things Taylor Swift? You may want to head to Stanford. The prestigious California University has become the latest college to add a Taylor-inspired course to its academic offerings. For their winter 2023 quarter, they’re offering a class called “All Too Well (Ten Week Version.” As any real Swiftie knows, the 2012 hit tells the story of one of the singer’s toughest breakups and now Stanford students can earn credits while analyzing the song. Only available to first-year students, the weekly class is part of the University’s Italic 99 courses, which “offer students an introduction to topics taught by alumni of the program.” These student-led classes focus on hands-on learning and in this one, they’ll get to pick apart Taylor’s lyrics verse by verse. Of course, tuition at Stanford will set you back more than $19-thousand for the winter quarter alone and there’s that whole admissions process, which means most people will never have the chance to actually take this class. But it’s also not the only college to have classes on the singer. Last year the University of Texas offered “The Taylor Swift Songbook” and New York University introduced one in 2022 as well.

Three of the most identifiable voices of 80's and 90's country have joined together to form a new group - and that group now has a major-label record deal. Called The Frontmen, the band consists of Larry Stewart of Restless Heart, Tim Rushlow of Little Texas and Richie McDonald of Lonestar. Originally conceived as a one-off to play the hits of their respective bands for the troops, the trio found they worked well together and continued to tour under the name The Frontmen. The band caught the attention of BMG/BBR Music Group, who just announced that the trio is now signed to their label, and stated the band would re-record some of their previous band's biggest hits, as well as recording some entirely new music. In addition to their 2023 tour dates, The Frontmen will perform on June 11 at CMA Fest on the Dr. Pepper Amp Stage.
