There are no surprises in a new study of fans of true crime shows. Coltan Scrivner, a research scientist at Recreational Fear Lab did some detective work and found it’s almost primal for us to be fascinated by crimes. He discovered that fans of the genre feel more prepared if a situation happens to them. OnePoll backs that up with 79-percent saying it. Also not a surprise is 71-percent of true crime buffs being less trusting of others. Scrivner notes that watching true crime doesn’t make you more violent.
