It's the 75th season of NASCAR racing and they're kicking it off with the an in-demand country-music artist to open for the Daytona 500. Breland has been chosen to sing the National Anthem at the Daytona 500! Breland has sung the National Anthem before at several large sporting events like the NFL, NHL, and MLS, and now adds the high-profile race to his resume. NASCAR is excited to have him sing, saying "His creative style and unique singing voice adds an extra element of excitement to a momentous weekend of racing and entertainment.” The Daytona 500 race is happening on Sunday at 2:30 PM ET on FOX. The race is no stranger to country artists, with Trace Adkins, Carrie Underwood, and Martina McBride all having previously sung the National Anthem for NASCAR.
American Idol buddies Katy Perry and Luke Bryan jumped on each other’s Instagrams to announce upcoming Vegas shows at Resorts World. The pop star and country star made the announcement Monday night saying they’ll be back with more dates this summer – Katy’s are May, July and August and Luke’s are August and September. The pair went onto joke about how they’ll be sharing the same bathroom, which hilariously freaked them both out. So, what’s a Katy Perry’s show like? According to the “Teenage Dream” singer, it’s a little like an out-of-body experience. Perry says, “You don’t have to take mushrooms to feel like you’re on mushrooms when you watch this show. Believe me.” Katy went on to say, “It’s got all the nostalgia factor, but it is wrapped up in this Alice in Wonderland mushroom trip animated story of finding true love and self-love.” These new show dates go on sale Friday.
