Chris Stapleton sang the National Anthem at the upcoming Super Bowl last night, but get this - he had previously said he would never perform the anthem…unless it was at the Super Bowl! But now that he was invited to perform at the Super Bowl, he let on that he was pretty worried about the gig. “It’s one of those calls you think you’re not gonna get. And then you get the call and you’re like, ‘Okay, let’s do this!’ I think I said it ‘cause I thought I wouldn’t get asked. The national anthem’s not an easy song for singers, and it’s one that can go horribly wrong as we’ve seen many times in the past,” Chris shared. Despite his nerves, he received positive reviews of his performance. Many players and coaches were seen crying on the sidelines during his performance. Check out his performance below.
Darius Rucker has just dropped his own version of Rihanna's "Lift Me Up," which was the Oscar-nominated theme song for the film "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." The release just so happens to occur the same time as Rihanna's performance at the Super Bowl halftime show! “I’ve been a huge fan of comics since I was a kid, and…I was so moved by this song playing at the end of the movie and I felt inspired to try my hand at singing it,” Rucker shared in a statement. Rucker says he hopes his fans “love this version” as much as he does. This latest releases comes as Rucker is finishing up his next album "Carolyn's Boy,” due out later this year.
