As horror films continue to rack up at the box office and on streaming platforms, 20th Century Studios is teasing their next big fright hit. “The Boogeyman,” adapted from a classic short story by the master of horror Stephen King has begun its marketing campaign.
In the last two days, the studio has released a frightening trailer and ominous artwork announcing the film’s arrival. The black and white sketch shows a closet door slightly ajar below the tagline “Don’t let it out.”
And while the trailer seems to show a slightly different plot than King’s 1973 story from his collection “The Night Shift,” the main story- children terrorized by a monster from their closet- seems to remain the same. “The Boogeyman” hits theaters June 2nd.
