Morgan Wallen has had a year for the books, and now that includes the record books. “You Proof” lands at number one on “Billboard’s” Country Airplay chart this week for the ninth week in a row, breaking the record of eight weeks held by the 2003 Alan Jackson/Jimmy Buffet hit “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” and Lonestar’s 1999 song “Amazed.” That’s not all; Wallen’s “Thought You Should Know” moved up to number 10 on this week’s Country Airplay chart, and his “One Thing at a Time” debuted on the chart at number 59.
Bailey Zimmerman has had one heck of a year, landing at number two on “Billboard’s” Top New Country Artist list for the year, and being put in their number four slot for Top New Artist across all genres. The biggest surprise for Zimmerman? “People come up to me in airports now,” he told Taste of Country, “just to come up and be like, ‘Man, I love the music.”
If you want to get into the holiday spirit, Jimmie Allen has just the thing. Allen posted his version of the Christmas classic “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” from his home studio. He asks in the video if he should release the song, and several notable artists quickly chimed in to tell him, as Flo Rida put it, “You BETTER release this.”
