In case you missed it...

Scotty McCreery is a dad. The singer and wife Gabi welcomed their first child, son Merrick Avery McCreery, on Monday, with the singer noting that the boy is named after Gabi’s dad Merrick (Tre) Dugal III, although they plan to call him Avery. "Never known a love like this,” the couple shared on social media, noting that their son was 11 days early. They add, "Thank yall for all of your prayers during this exciting season of life! Healthy baby and a healthy mama! Praise God🙌🏼🙏🏼."  In a separate press release, Scotty offers, "Next to his mother, he is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," adding, "We have been waiting and preparing all year, and now we are so excited to have our little man here with us,” noting, “We have begun a grand new adventure that will continue for the rest of our lives."  Scotty says his wife was "a total rock star," during the birth, noting,  "I could not be more proud of her. She has already taken to motherhood like a champ. Part of my joy as his Dad is watching Gabi already crush it as his Mom." The CMA Awards are two weeks away and the first set of performers for the show have now been revealed.

Confirmed to perform on the telecast are Kelsea Ballerini, with Kelly Clarkson and Carly Pearce, singing Kelsea’s track “You’re Drunk, Go Home,” along with Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Pearce, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen and Zac Brown Band, featuring Jimmie Allen and Marcus King. In addition, the show is set to open with a star-studded tribute to country legend Loretta Lynn. The 56th Annual CMA Awards, hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, will air November 9th at 8 pm on ABC, live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
