A new documentary about Johnny Cash is set to hit theaters this December. “Johnny Cash: The Redemption of an American Icon” will run in theaters for a limited time, from December 5th to 7th, and features appearances by John Carter Cash, Sheryl Crow, Tim McGraw, Marty Stuart, Wynonna Judd, Jimmie Allen, Alice Cooper and more. The film was created using 100 tapes originally recorded for Cash’s autobiography. Until now they haven’t been heard outside of the Cash family. The film recounts Cash’s life as he was making “Man in Black,” in which he was dealing with depression and drug addiction, and follows his road to redemption. Johnny Cash’s son John Carter Cash notes, “I think of all the documentaries made about my dad, he’d be most excited about this one.”
Zac Brown Band is set to release “The Comeback (Deluxe)” on September 30th, and it will feature a new collaboration with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer James Taylor. ZBB and Taylor will team up for the tune “Love & Sunsets,” which drops Friday.
