- Teens Get $10k Scholarships For Making Duct Tape Prom Outfits (REAL)
There’s nothing like getting $10k to put toward your college tuition for the outfit you wore to prom, but that’s what happened to Grace Vaughn and Chidinma Onwuliri. They each won a $10k scholarship for making their prom outfits out of duct tape. The outfits had to be made from Duck Brand Duct Tape, the company that sponsors the contest, awarding one prize for the best tuxedo and one for the best dress. Vaughn, who won the scholarship for her dress design, says she spent 143 hours creating her dress, which weighed 13 pounds when it was finished.
