In case you missed it...

Miranda Lambert is opening up about a serious health crisis in her family. The singer shares with “People” that her mom Beverly June was diagnosed with breast cancer in September, but thankfully she’s now cancer-free. “She's been through a whole lot, but she's doing really well, and she's ready to roll," Miranda says. "I was able to be with her through the hardest parts. She's unstoppable. She's just been so strong and positive through the whole thing.” Miranda adds, “It's a good lesson for people to take away from a journey like that: Even though it's a really scary place to be, the more positive, the better." While Beverly was the one fighting the cancer, the entire family was there for her along the way. Beverly shares, “There were big milestones and pools of tears on some days, yet we stayed hand in hand and did the entire walk together as a family," noting that she even kept extended family and friends in the loop, which also helped. She notes, “The entire journey, I felt like there was an army behind me praying for me and cheering me on. It worked! I'm cancer-free today!"

As we told you, earlier this month Luke Combs became a first time dad, and in a new interview he says he really wants to work on his weight and health in order to be around for his son. “Having a kid has messed up my head on this thing in the best way,” he tells Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe. “I want to be around … I’m fine right now, my cholesterol and my blood pressure is fine ’cause I’m a younger guy, but by the time I’m 45, it’s not going to be because of the shape that I’m in.” The 32-year-old, who welcomed son Tex with wife Nicole on Father’s Day, admits that the fact that he “struggles” with his weight has always “bugged” him. “Especially when you’re younger, you’re like, man I just got like a horrible genetic dice roll on this thing,” he said, although he admits he likes to "pig out" at times, adding, "I’m not trying to say it’s not my fault because it is in a lot of ways [it is].” Luke says he’d like to “really love” lose some weight, but it isn’t easy, especially since food is an addiction that isn't easy to quit. “Let’s say you’re a cocaine addict and you quit cocaine, food is the only drug that you are addicted to that you have to have to live,” he says “You would literally die without food so that’s what makes it such a difficult thing." Regardless of all of this, Luke insists he’s “comfortable in his own skin,” even though he does care about what other people think. He notes, “Sometimes I think, man I don’t want people to think of me in this way where it’s like, this guy doesn’t care about himself.”
