Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan are featured in the latest incarnation of “Father of the Bride.” This time, the story will be told from the standpoint of a big Cuban-American family whose daughter is marrying into an extremely wealthy Mexican-American family. The twist is that the parents are hiding their impending divorce as they plan their daughter’s surprise wedding.
The fact that Andy and Gloria have been friends for years gives the film an interesting kind of chemistry. “I was just looking forward to spending the time with her and bringing our own personal relationship to the forefront, and it was very easy to have obviously chemistry with her and we felt very comfortable with one another,” he explained. But Gloria added, “The thing I fretted about the most was that I had to kiss Andy because he is my friend and his wife is my friend.”
