There will be a lot of great artists on tour this summer, and if your bank account won’t let you buy the best seats for every show (and these days whose can?), Live Nation is here to help. The promoter is once again set to launch their annual “Concert Week," where fans can pick up tickets to shows for just $25, and that includes fees. This year’s promotion is set to run May 4th to May 10th, with 3,700 shows to choose from. (A Citi pre-sale begins May 3rd). Johnny Cash’s life will be the subject of a new Broadway musical, being developed by former Sony music boss Tommy Mottola. Tentatively titled “Johnny & June,” a reference to the Man in Black and his wife June Carter Cash, the musical will be directed by Tony winner Des McAnuff, who was behind such musicals as “Jersey Boys,” The Who’s “Tommy,” “Big River” and more. So far no actor has been cast to play Cash. The project is being is being workshopped with Dodgers Theatricals, which is also a producer.
