Yellowstone National Park has new annual passes, but you can’t use them in YOUR lifetime.
The park is offering a new annual pass that will get visitors into the park 150 years from now, and not before. The passes are called "The Inheritance Passes" and they sell for 15-hundred dollars. The park's fundraising arm, Yellowstone Forever, will use the money for projects including trail improvements, education, native fish conservation, and scientific studies.
Yellowstone marked its 150th anniversary on March 1st and the world's first national park will mark its 300th anniversary in 2172. That's when the passes, which Yellowstone Forever hopes people will buy for their descendants, will be good for admission for one year.
