"He's bummed to miss seeing everyone!" There will still be plenty of performances on the show though. Confirmed artists include Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, Carly Pearce, Cole Swindell with Lainey Wilson, Keith Urban and Cody Johnson. The 2022 CMT Music Awards, hosted by Kelsea and Anthony Mackie, will air April 11th on CBS, with an extended version with 30 extra minutes of performances to debut April 15th on CMT. Voting is open now.

Blake Shelton is paying tribute to six high school students who were killed in a car accident in his hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. "In the wake of yesterday's unthinkable crash in our small town of Tishomingo, we as a community have all been in shock and broken-hearted," Blake shares. "I personally know the devastation of suddenly losing a loved one in a car accident,” a reference to his 24-year-old brother Richie, who died in a car crash in 1990. Blake adds, “But our community is strong and has come together to support and wrap our arms around the families and friends that are hurting the most." He noted, “There's no question it will take a long time to heal from this tragedy. Keep the prayers coming."
