Artists confirmed for the broadcast include Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Darius Rucker and Dustin Lynch, as well as Bill Anderson, Terri Clark, the Gatlin Brothers, Vince Gill, Chris Janson, Jeannie Seely, Connie Smith, and Chris Young.

Nominations for the 2021 American Music Awards have been announced with Chris Stapleton and Gabby Barrett leading the country pack with three nods each. Other multiple nominees include Luke Bryan and Luke Combs, who each have two, as does Morgan Wallen, although producers made it clear he will not be invited to the telecast. “Wallen is a nominee this year based on charting,” producers said in a statement. “As his conduct does not align with our core values, we will not be including him on the show in any capacity (performing, presenting, accepting).” They add, “We plan to evaluate his progress in doing meaningful work as an ally to the Black community and will consider his participation in future shows." The 2021 American Music Awards will air November 21ston ABC live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
