In case you missed it...

Jake Owen is facing a lawsuit over his hit song “Made For You.” Alexander Cardinale and Morgan Reid have filed a lawsuit claiming Jake’s song is a rip-off of their 2014 track with the same name. They claim the lyrics and the melody of Jake’s tune is awfully similar to their song, suggesting “notes, structure, harmony, vocal style and rhythm are clear indicators" that it’s a copy. They also are making a case that Jake could have heard he tune, which was on Cardinale’s album “Digital Youth," noting that it was used in a Coca-Cola commercial in 2016 and then re-released worldwide. Jake released his “Made For You” in 2019, and it went to number one back in May. Check out the two tunes below and judge for yourself.

Brett Young is adding author to his resume. The singer will release the children’s book “Love You, Little Lady” on August 24th. The book, inspired by his hit song “Lady,” features rhymes and illustrations, and follows a set of parents as they watch their daughter grow into a “little lady.” “‘Lady’ is easily one of the most special songs I’ve ever written,” Brett shares. “Becoming a dad has changed everything for me… I’ve heard from so many families saying how much the song has meant to them as well, which is the dream as a songwriter.” He adds, “When we were given the opportunity to transform ‘Lady’ into a children’s book, it was such an easy ‘yes.’ Taylor and I feel so blessed to have this book as a keepsake and to read to our girls as they grow up.”
