Now that the CDC says vaccinated people don’t need face masks, we have to figure out what to do with them. Keeping a few, just in case, is a good idea, but what about the rest of them? You can get rid of them in sustainable ways. Here are some ideas...
- Recycle them. Companies like Terracycle will gladly take your disposables. Find details online.
- Dispose of cloth masks, after thorough washing, like other textiles.
- Donate unused and packaged disposable masks.
- Upcycle cloth masks. You can turn them into towels, scarves, quilts, blankets… you name it!
