When you offer to watch someone’s pet for them, it’s understood you’ll give it back when the owner is ready. That’s not what happened here, but there seem to have been good reasons for it. In a Reddit post, a woman says her 21-year-old cousin asked her to look after her new puppy, Delilah, and she agreed. However, it was two months before the cousin came back and asked for it back. By that point, the pupsitter had grown attached and said no. The woman says her cousin has a “track record” of adopting animals and then getting rid of them, and she didn’t want Delilah to get the same treatment. She also said her cousin had no supplies to take care of the puppy, and she cared too much for the dog to send it to an uncertain situation. There’s a happy ending, though. After a few shouting matches, the cousins came to an agreement, and the woman that had been watching Delilah for two months is now her new owner. Later in the thread, she added “So yeah, the dog and I are very happy…”
