It turns out Benedict Cumberbatch was almost in “WandaVision.” In fact, he inked a deal with Marvel to appear in the epic finale of the series starring Elizabeth Olsen…but he ended up being written out. In an interview with “Rolling Stone,” Marvel honcho Kevin Feige says he knows some Marvel fans would’ve been psyched to see Dr. Strange in the show, but he figured it “would have taken away from Wanda.” Plus, they didn’t want the finale to end like, “here’s the white guy, let me show you how power works.’” But because they ended up taking Doctor Strange out of “WandaVision,” that means the upcoming “Doctor Strange” movie “had to be rewritten,” too. As previously reported, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” premieres March 25th, 2022.
