St. Paul the Apostle Knights of Columbus Council 15725 invites all first-responders to its fifth annual Blue Mass tonight (May 14) at 5:30 p.m. in the church. The Blue Mass is intended to promote peace and justice through faith and unity with God and community as well as to celebrate first-responders. The Blue Mass gets its name from the predominantly blue uniforms of police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians. First-responders of all faiths and traditions are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Davenport Fire Department Honor Guard, Davenport Police Honor Guard, Knights of Columbus Honor Guard, Blackhawk Bagpipers and Drum Corp and Patriot Riders will attend. Father Tony Herold, pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, will preside at Mass. All attendees are asked to dress in uniform. Following Mass, the Knights will host a reception in Denning Hall, which is attached to the church.
