Three Quad City Area High School Bowlers Are Some of the Best in Iowa!

WLLR congratulates three area high school bowlers who made the Des Moines Register's Sports Awards "All-Iowa Elite Boys' Bowling Team'!

Dustin Beaham. He's a junior at Louisa-Muscatine who dominat ed the Clas 1A state meet--winning with a score of (holy cow) 535! This was the best of all classes by 23 pins! Dustin bowled a perfect 300--and a 235--to get there!

Brant Carter. Brant's a senior at Davenport North, and he entered the state meet ranked second in Iowa with a 229.8 game score average (YES, 230 is pretty much AVERAGE for Brant!!), plus his series high score of 560 was the best in the state. He finished ninth in the Class 3A state meet and helped lead Davenport North to win the team race!

Whittney Morse is a Junior at Louisa-Muscatine and she's the Class 1A state champion! Plus, she's the reigning All-Iowa Female Bowler of the Year. Morse is now a two-time state champ! Way to go Whittney!!
