Illinois City Salutes Our Vets

Here at WLLR, we love any opportunity for all of us to honor the men and women who've so bravely served our country over the years.

And Illinois City IL is doing it right---with a new memorial there to honor vets! you can attend the groundbreaking. Here's the info:

Illinois City Veterans Memorial Committee will be hold a Groundbreaking Ceremony

Saturday April 14, 2019 at the Illinois City Fire Department, 23829 238th ST W., Illinois City, IL at 12 noon

This event marks the beginning of construction of a memorial in Illinois City to honor area military veterans who have served so honorably in times of peace and war.

The ICVMC meets monthly at the Illinois City Fire Department and welcomes anyone interested in helping see this memorial completed.

[More Info: Illinois City Veterans Memorial Committee is composed of a group of lower Rock Island County citizens, working with the Buffalo Prairie Fire Protection District/Illinois City Fire Department and American Legion Community Post 1166, Reynolds, Illinois, and dedicated to the construction of a memorial to our local citizens that served their country within the armed forces of the United States of America during times of peace and war.
