An atlatl. I had no idea these things even existed until I read the article and watched the video (below).
This Saturday (10/20) check out the Great Atlatl Pumpkin Hunt at the Wapsi River Education Center 31555 52nd Avenue • Dixon, Iowa. Join naturalist Mike Granger for a chance to hunt with an atlatl, a primitive hunting weapon originally used to hunt mastodon and bison.
