Oh Christmas Tree....(Maybe It's Time for Recycling)

Christmas tree collection runs now through Saturday, Jan. 6, on residents' collection days. All ornaments, plastic wrap and tree stands must be removed. No sticker is required. Trees should be left at regular collection sites by 7 a.m. Because of the New Year holiday, collection services have been moved one day later in the week to include Saturday, Jan. 6.

Christmas trees get picked up on regular solid waste collection days until Jan. 12. Set your tree out by the curb, free of decorations and stands. Trees should not be placed in plastic bags.

East Moline

Christmas tree pickup will be the week of Jan. 8. All residents should have their trees curbside by 7 a.m. on their regular trash pick-up days.

The city of Moline will collect Christmas trees placed with regular garbage through Jan. 12. Garbage/recycling collection is one day late this week.

Rock Island

Trees will be picked up in Rock Island on regular garbage days through Jan. 6. Christmas trees should be placed at the normal garbage set-out point on residents' garbage collection days.

Trees must be placed at least 3 feet away from garbage carts to guarantee collection of both the Christmas trees and the garbage carts. Separate trucks will pick up Christmas trees.
