Word out this morning that a John Deere lawn tractor is being recalled. John Deere has recalled 25,000 lawn tractors and service part transmissions due to a crash hazard. The John Deere D105 lawn tractors are being recalled because the transmission can fail and that poses a crash hazard. The tractors were sold at Home Depot, Lowes, and John Deere dealers nationwide from February 2016 through July 2017. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the tractors were manufactured at the Deere plant in Moline, Illinois. An estimated 25,000 tractors and 500 transmission service parts are included in the recall. People with the recalled lawn tractor as asked to stop using it immediately and contact your closest John Deere dealer for a free repair.
