It's not Thursday, but I have a little 'throwing-back' to do anyway.
You see, it was this week in 1977 that I first spoke on the radio here in the Quad Cities. The station, KSTT, is no longer on the air--but ask your Mom, Dad, Grandma or Grandpa about KSTT. If they lived around here then, they'll remember it.
But to my point: I really thought when I moved here that I'd last in the Quad Cities for 6 months, maybe a year...(and thinking LONG TERM), two years. I knew so many in my business who had memorized the number to U-Haul (no such thing as 'contact lists' back then--heck we were lucky if we had landlines).
But here in the Quad Cities is where I met the love of my life, experienced the joy of helping to raise two wonderful sons, and enjoyed an adventure in broadcasting that I wouldn't trade for anything.
So today I say THANK YOU to YOU. Because, the fact that you have listened--and are listening now--has made all of the above possible for myself and my family.
Thank you from the current me, and from the 1977 model (below).
