I looked it up. In America we have over 1,200 "days"....many not even worth mentioning. Some are just for fun--and I get that.
But today it's serious. Take a few moments and think about America's Vietnam War Veterans. These men and women were flown a world away and dropped into a surreal environment where they were given the duty to "preserve freedom". Many were barely 18 and hadn't even experienced "freedom" themselves yet. In many cases they came back deeply changed.
I am barely young enough to have not been eligible to serve in this conflict which tore apart our country---even tore apart families.
If you are a man or woman who served in Vietnam---you have my utmost respect, and I hope today, someone comes up to you and thanks you.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
