Why Escape Rooms Should Become Holiday Tradition

It seems like escape rooms have been all the rage lately. Stars of Pixar's newest animated film "Spies In Disguise," Tom Holland and Will Smith, decided to try one themselves as a way of finally getting to know one another. The video is delightful, but it also got me thinking, what if we all had to do an escape room with our families before sitting down to holiday ham?

I'm personally a big fan of escape rooms. Am I good at them? No way. If they were real-life scenarios I'd have died several times by now. But my first time working through an escape room with my mom is a memory I'll cherish for a very long time. It's amazing how much solving puzzles under the stress of a timer can force you to forget everything else and work together. If you're looking for ways to help the family feel closer this season, I recommend escaping a room together. We even have one right here in Davenport! Before everyone leaves for the new year, give it a try and see just how much fun it is escaping a haunted pirate ship or a serial killer's basement with your cousins and in-laws.
