One country contestant made a good impression with the American Idol judges—in more ways than one!
Before Caleb Lee Hutchinson delivered his audition, the 18 year old delivered his impersonation of the panel’s country judge Luke Bryan.
Caleb then recited his Luke impression, garnering approval of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke himself, who then did his own impression of himself.
“Hey, that’s pretty close. I might do it a little bit better. I think I sound more like the guy,” the Dallas, Georgia, native deadpanned.
Caleb isn't the only person with an impression of Luke. Cody posted his own during the episode.
In the end, Caleb’s performance of The SteelDrivers’ “If It Hadn’t Been for Love” earned him a golden ticket to Hollywood.
American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays on ABC.
