Bobby's HS Football Coach Gandolph Surprised Him At Honors Event

Bobby Bones was recently honored at a Musicians On Call event for his leadership in music. There was a night with performances by Thomas Rhett and Chris Janson, as well as fellow nominee Charles Esten there for his award as well. A star-studded night, but one person who really made an impact by showing up for Bones was his high school football coach.

Coach Gandolph drove 6 hours to surprise Bones and present him with his leadership in music award. Gandolph was a major influence in Bones life as a kid from being a father figure, disciplinarian to a coach. Read what Bones wrote on his Instagram,

When your high school football coach surprises you and comes out to present you with an award... (mindblown emojis) He drove 6 hrs tonight and said some really kind things about my work ethic. One that he taught me. He was a major influence in my life as a kid. Both as a father figure, disciplinarian, and coach. I learned a lot from him. Some I didn’t understand until later in life . “Everyday is a good day” is what he would say during every practice . Because we were given the luxury to have a day. A healthy day. A day where we could improve . And if we started the day saying that, it was a little more likely to happen. Thanks to Coach Gandolph for tonight and for a lot of how I feel about life.
